NCAA Football Betting - Northwestern at Wisconsin

Its first Big Ten title since 1999 and a likely spot in the Rose Bowl is what awaits No. 7 Wisconsin if the Badgers can beat Northwestern on Saturday. The Badgers are 23-point favorites on Bodog’s NCAA football odds.
Northwestern is 6-5 in the past 11 games against Wisconsin and has a history of ruining the Badgers’ big dreams. For example, the Wildcats’ 33-31 win last season denied UW a share of second place in the Big Ten and dropped the Badgers out of the running for a New Year's Day Bowl. Redshirt freshman Evan Watkins is expected to make his second straight start in place of an injured Dan Persa, who’s out for the year. Watkins struggled in last week’s 48-27 loss to Illinois, going 10-for-20 for 135 yards with an interception. The Northwestern Wildcats will be without starting running back Mike Trumpy because of a wrist injury. He leads Northwestern in rushing with 530 yards on 116 carries for four touchdowns.
Wisconsin Badgers holds the inside track to the Big Ten's automatic BCS berth to the Rose Bowl because the Badgers are the highest-ranked conference team in the BCS standings. So even though they might share the Big Ten crown with both Michigan State and Ohio State, UW would go to Pasadena. However, if OSU loses to Michigan and both MSU and Wisconsin win, then the Spartans would go to the Rose Bowl and the Badgers would be an at-large BCS bowl selection.
The Wisconsin Badgers lead the Big Ten and ranks seventh nationally in scoring at 40.9 points per game. During its current six-game winning streak, Wisconsin has outscored its opponents by more than 22 points per game (44.7-22). The Badgers have averaged 240.7 yards on the ground, while quarterback Scott Tolzien has completed 78.6 percent of his passes. Starting running back John Clay is expected to play after missing the past two games. He wasn’t really missed much. Last week, for example, RBs James White and Montee Ball combined for 354 yards rushing and six touchdowns.
